The Medical University of Wrocław wants to create a network of cardiology centers that would allow for better and more effective treatment of difficult patients. The network would rely heavily on telemedicine.
– We want to launch the possibility of telemedicine connection with family doctors who would consult with specialists. Additionally, such a telebridge should connect twelve cardiology centers operating in Lower Silesia, – says the rector of the Medical University in Wrocław, Prof. Piotr Ponikowski.
The centers could consult difficult cases remotely, organize consultations, and transferred patients to other hospitals would not bring their medical records.
The Lower Silesian network could become a pilot solution and, after checking its functioning, it could be extended to other regions. The program is supported by the government plenipotentiary for digitization and computerization, Janusz Cieszyński, and Deputy Minister of Health, Anna Goławska.
