The Minister of Science and Higher Education, Dariusz Wieczorek, has announced that expenditures on Polish science will increase by PLN 7 billion. During a press conference at the Ministry’s main office, he also confirmed a 30 % increase for scientific employees at Polish universities and a 20 % increase for administration at all Polish universities.

“This is a very important matter, because we know what is happening at Polish universities. And I would also like to reassure all rectors of state and private universities, the government will not cheat in this respect. Apart from the fact that a regulation on these raises will be issued, we will secure funds 100% for these raises”, assured Minister Wieczorek.

He also informed that the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN) will gain additional funds. “Thanks to the decision of the Prime Minister and the Minister of Finance, it was possible to increase the budget of the Polish Academy of Sciences, which had not been increased at all in recent years. This year we are increasing it by 180 million”, he added.
