Ministers of science of Poland and Germany to discuss cooperation in the field of research and higher education

The Minister of Science and Higher Education, Dariusz Wieczorek, met with the Minister of Education and Research of the Federal Republic of Germany, Bettina Stark-Watzinger. The topic of the conversation was the prospects for Polish-German cooperation in scientific research and higher education.

The topics included: joint activities for the development of future technologies, with a particular focus on artificial intelligence, the issue of combating climate change and the importance of science in the development of environmentally friendly energy. 

During the discussion, the establishment of centres of scientific excellence and the development of research infrastructures in the European Research Area were also discussed. 

The ministers agreed that an important element of Polish-German cooperation should be the exchange of information on research achievements and potential. In the context of cooperation within the European Union, both the Polish and German sides declared their willingness to extend it to include partners from other EU countries.
