Students of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Wrocław University of Life Sciences (UPWr) are the only ones in Europe to study on modern endoscopic simulators. This gives them the opportunity to carry out a simulated process such as gastroscopy and bronchoscopy, and afterwards, to analyse the process in detail.
UPWr students use endoscopic simulators to examine the gastrointestinal tract and respiratory system in their fifth year, in practical classes in the subject ‘Diseases of dogs and cats’ and in optional subjects in their sixth year.
Currently, within the Endoscopic Simulation Laboratory, launched at the Department of Dog and Cat Diseases, students at the Wrocław university have three SYMBIONIX simulation platforms at their disposal. Two provide practical training in basic gastroenterological endoscopic skills and procedures, while the third enables students to acquire and develop skills in tracheal and bronchial endoscopy.
