The National Contact Point for Horizon Europe 2024 is continuing its campaign called ‘Become a Horizon Europe expert’, which aims to encourage as many Poles as possible to register in the European Commission’s expert database.

In the second half of April 2023, when the ‘Become a Horizon Europe expert’ information campaign was launched, the total number of experts registered in the European Commission (EC) database was 237,154. Now, in February 2024, the EC data shows that there are 250,928. There has been an increase of 13,774 people (5.81%). Experts are predominantly male (66% of those registered).

The order of countries with the largest number of experts in the database has remained unchanged since April 2023. In this ranking, Poland ranks ninth.

Between April 2023 and February 2024, the number of experts from Poland increased from 9345 to 9974, i.e. by 6.73%. This is higher than the overall percentage increase in the number of experts across the base, which is 5.81%. Among the Polish experts, 40% are women, and the dominant group is from the higher and secondary education sector (40.8%).
