National Center for Research and Development to allocate PLN 200 million in the Fast Way “Coronavirus” competition

PLN 200 million will be received by Polish entrepreneurs and scientists who work on diagnostics, treatment and prevention of viral diseases. The National Center for Research and Development (NCBR) announced the Fast Way “Coronavirus” competition.

The NCRD envisaged three basic thematic areas in which scientists can submit their projects for financing including: diagnostics – devices for quickly detecting the presence of coronavirus; treatment – research on the use of existing or new drugs, as well as vaccines; prevention – preventive measures limiting the spread of a pandemic (including the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus) and improving biological security and protecting society, and supporting its functioning in epidemiological emergencies under initiative of the Polish antivirus shield.

The competition is addressed to projects implemented throughout Poland: PLN 125 million will be allocated in less developed areas (i.e. outside the Mazowieckie Voivodeship), and PLN 75 million will be received by the Mazowieckie Voivodeship.
