The National Centre for Science (NCN), in cooperation with the European Biodiversity Partnership (BiodivERsA+), is launching a competition for international research projects focusing on improving the monitoring system for biodiversity and ecosystem change.

According to NCN, projects should focus on improving existing methods or developing and evaluating new ones to better characterise, understand and model the state of biodiversity, its dynamics and trends at relevant spatial and temporal scales.

The competition also aims to support researchers in developing tools to better implement and harmonise biodiversity monitoring programmes across countries and regions.

International consortia of at least 3 research teams from at least 3 countries participating in the competition can apply for funding. The leader of the Polish team must hold at least a PhD degree.
