133 applications were submitted in the DAINA2 competition for research projects carried out by Polish-Lithuanian teams. Under the call, 11 projects were allocated for funding for a total amount of almost PLN 11.7 million.

Most applications were submitted in science and technology categories – 56, 41 applications were submitted in humanities, social sciences and art, and in life sciences – 36. 11 research projects were qualified for funding for a total amount of PLN 11,691,311.

The winners of the humanities, social sciences and art categories will examine mobility, migration and the COVID-19 epidemic in terms of emergency management in Lithuania and Poland. Scientists of life sciences will research manipulation of drug resistance in cancer cells through nanosecond, asymmetric pulse sequences. Projects in the field of exact and technical sciences include research on the importance of long-range transport of biomass combustion emissions for local smog in urban environments.
