The MINIATURA competition gathered 828 scientists, who received support for their basic research, and the total amount of funding reached almost PLN 30 million.

The MINIATURA competition is addressed to persons with a doctoral degree obtained up to 12 years prior to the application, who did not manage the implementation of the research project at the time of submitting the application, nor were awarded with doctoral scholarships or internships financed from the funds of the National Science Center .

The MINIATURA competition financed only implementing basic research, such as pilot or initial research, conference trips, queries, internships or scientific consultations.

The greatest number of grants were received by scientists from the Jagiellonian University, the University of Lodz and the University of Warmia and Mazury.

The opening of the second the MINIATURA competition is planned for April 2018.
