The National Science Center (NCN) has become the coordinator of the CHANSE (Collaboration of Humanities and Social Sciences in Europe) program, which will be implemented by 27 research funding institutions of 24 European countries. Its goal is to finance research in the field of humanities and social sciences.
The CHANSE program will be launched early next year. It will include a competition for international research projects titled “Transformations: Social and cultural dynamics in the digital age”. The budget of the competition is EUR 36 million, of which EUR 26 million is allocated by national funding institutions, and the rest is financed by the EU.
The CHANSE program is the result of the cooperation of the HERA and NORFACE networks, supporting research in the field of humanities and social sciences, respectively. CHANSE aims to fund high-quality international research projects and inspire collaboration between scientists and NGOs, cultural institutions and policy makers.
