The “Method of eradication of bacterial phytopathogens” developed by scientists of the University of Gdańsk and the Wrocław University of Science and Technology has been patented. The solution enables the effective elimination of phytopathogenic cells in a manner that is completely safe for the environment.

The aim of the invention is a method of eradication of bacterial phytopathogens using aqueous solutions of inorganic salts activated by means of a constant current glow discharge generated under atmospheric pressure in contact with a flowing liquid cathode in a continuous flow system. The resulting post-plasma solution has a bacteriostatic or bactericidal effect depending on the inactivated phytopathogen.

The invention may be used in the production of vegetables and seeds, as an effective and environmentally friendly agent for eradication of bacteria and as the protection of seeds, agricultural and horticultural crops.
