Nicolaus Copernicus University to launch innovative project for patients after a heart attack

29.10.2020

Thirty Polish cardiology centers will take part in the project “Multilevel educational and motivational intervention in patients after a heart attack – MEDMOTION”. This project was designed at the Department of Health Promotion of the Nicolaus Copernicus University Collegium Medicum.

MEDMOTION will be implemented in 30 hospitals in Poland and 4.5 thousand patients will benefit from it. During their stay in the hospital, they will be individually educated on the basis of educational brochures, while their answers to questions that arise later will be given during the planned five follow-up visits, and the daily SMS will remind them about taking medications.

The effectiveness of these activities will be tested using three specially prepared questionnaires. All this will be reflected in the so-called hard clinical endpoints, i.e. re-hospitalization and mortality rates.
