Next year, the first in Poland center for promoting universal design principles in the area of design and everyday objects will begin operating at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Opole University of Technology (PO).
The university received nearly PLN 2.5 million from the National Center for Research and Development for the project. The project partners are the Pedagogical University of Krakow and the Krakow University of Technology.
The center will provide for an accessibility and universal design laboratory in the area of design and everyday objects.
The main goal of the center’s activity is primarily cooperation with the socio-economic environment in universal design in the area of design and everyday objects. In the center there will be an information and consultation point for external entities in accessibility and universal design. The project will also include training cycles for entities from the economic environment, university employees and students.
