Optimisation laboratory for renewable energy sources launched at the Opole University of Technology

Thanks to the cooperation between the Opole University of Technology and the Walbrzych Special Economic Zone, a modern laboratory will be set up on the university’s second campus, where research will be conducted into the intelligent stabilisation of photovoltaic farms by means of industrial energy storage.

The laboratory will include a photovoltaic farm, an energy storage facility, a power supply, control and measurement system and a vehicle charging station.

“The main objective of the laboratory will be to carry out innovative research and development work on solar electricity generation, including, in particular, the intelligent stabilisation of photovoltaic farms by means of industrial energy storage. The laboratory will also be used for teaching in this field, and will also be available for use by entrepreneurs”, says the Rector of the Opole University of Technology, Prof. Marcin Lorenc.
