Paulina Czernek-Pasierbek, a PhD student at the University of Bielsko-Biala (UBB) has become a finalist of the XXII Prof. Czesław Zgorzelski competition organised at the Catholic University of Lublin.
The main objective of the competition is to promote the best MA theses in Polish Studies submitted by various centres in two separate disciplines: linguistics and literary studies. The competition is held under the patronage of Professor Czesław Zgorzelski (1908-1996), a long-time academic and didactic member of staff at the Catholic University of Lublin, an outstanding expert on the literature of the Polish Enlightenment and Romanticism, and an editor of Adam Mickiewicz’s works.
The laureate is the author of a thesis in literary studies ‘Illness in school readings – a maladic study’ and a second-year doctoral student at the Interdisciplinary Doctoral School of the Bielsko-Biała University. Her dissertation will be an in-depth study of the issue of maladism in contemporary literature.
