Piotr Hildt, a PhD student of the Cultural Practice Research Department of the Institute of Cultural Studies of the University of Wrocław – became one of the five finalists of the 7th Andrzej Żurowski National Competition for the best young theater critics in Poland.
The Andrzej Żurowski Competition is organized with support of the Mayor of Gdynia, the Marshal of the Pomeranian Voivodeship and the Gdynia City Theater of Witold Gombrowicz. Its organizer is the International Association of Theater Critics. Its Polish section is located in the Theater Critics Club of the Polish Journalists Association in Warsaw. This year’s, 25 people submitted their works to the competition.
The finalist’s diploma the jury emphasized “amazingly subtle and extensive analyzes of performances, characterized by high competence of the reviewer and the ability to relate historical and cultural issues, especially on the Viennese theater”.
