12.11.2020

Katarzyna Przybyła, PhD student of the Faculty of Architecture of Wrocław University of Science and Technology, was qualified for the main exhibition of the international festival Abierto Mexicano de Diseno. The exhibition presenting ideas for future-oriented environmental and social solutions can now be viewed in its entirety on the Internet.

The festival exhibition is an overview of ideas, materials and products in which designers, architects and artists present their ideas to solve environmental and social problems. It showed recycled denim, biomaterials of avocado seed and environmental and social initiatives from around the world.

Katarzyna Przybyła presented the project “Icemill – pure water for global sustainability”. This is the concept of a huge plant that would extract drinking water from the oceans, based on the freeze desalination method. It is based on the phenomenon of crystallization of water molecules – the freezing point of pure water is higher than that of sea water.
