Researchers from the Łukasiewicz – Warsaw Institute of Technology (WIT) have developed a loose material for sealing the gaps between paving elements, which is resistant to biological weed growth.

PiasEKO is a sand for filling the spaces between paving blocks that reduces overgrowth by mosses, lichens and weeds. Thanks to the use of nano-metals, the problem of cleaning paved surfaces is solved. By using PiasEKO it is not necessary to use herbicides and pesticides, as well as the tedious mechanical cleaning of paving surfaces, car driveways and the surroundings of the property.

PiasEKO can also be used as a swimming pool filter, to create façade bands, or as an additive to plaster to protect against façade greening. The technology used can also be used for other aggregates.
