The development of digitalisation and automation of monitoring of corrosive factors at production installations, logistics systems and fuel stations is the subject of the 2nd competition of the NEON Programme, announced as part of the Joint Undertaking between PKN ORLEN and the National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR).
The project that wins the competition will receive PLN 8m from PKN ORLEN and NCBR for further research and development. The call for applications will open on 27 January 2023.
Strengthening the safety of strategic production infrastructure through measures to counteract corrosion processes requires the use of increasingly advanced tools. “We want to systematically increase the degree of automation of monitoring and introduce digital models for managing corrosion protection measures for installations. We are counting on unique ideas not only from the world of science, but also from the information technology market”, said Arkadiusz Majoch, Director of the Office of Innovation and New Technology Development at PKN ORLEN.
