The European High Performance Computing Joint Undertaking – EuroHPC JU (European High Performance Computing Joint Undertaking) has competitively selected six locations across the European Union to become the owners and operators of the first EuroHPC quantum computers. These are the Czech Republic, Germany, Spain, France, Italy and Poland.

The Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Centre (PSNC) in Poznan is the coordinator and initiator of the Polish project (Euro QCS-Poland) and at the same time the site where the system will be installed. Other participants in the project consortium from Poland include the Centre for Theoretical Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences and Creotech Instruments S.A.

The goal of the EuroQCS (European Quantum Computing and Simulation) project, with a total value of EUR 100 million, is to place quantum computers in these countries and integrate them with supercomputing systems.
