Polish-Danish archaeological research in Wolin to take place

The Director of the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Professor Marian Rębkowski, representatives of the University of Aarhus, Moesgaard Museum Aarhus, the Municipality of Wolin and the Wolin Museum, as well as representatives of the Wolin-Jómsborg-Wineta Slavic and Viking Centre Association, signed a letter of intent concerning archaeological research in Wolin.

The signing ceremony of the letter of intent was attended by King Frederik X of Denmark. The exchange of letters of intent between Polish and Danish institutions was on the agenda of the Danish monarch’s official visit to Szczecin.

The signatories of the document expressed their willingness and intention to undertake archaeological research in Wolin and announced their cooperation in promoting the city’s early medieval heritage.
