Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań to host the International Congress of Linguists

Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań will be the first academic centre in Poland to host the International Congress of Linguists (ICL). This is one of the largest events devoted to linguistics, and has been organised for almost 100 years. The congress will take place from 8 to 14 September 2024. The theme of this year’s edition is ‘Languages – Communities – Technologies’.

The congresses are organised once every five years as a meeting place for international linguistics. It discusses all areas and sub-disciplines of linguistics, as well as interdisciplinary topics.

During the congress week, a series of plenary lectures by eminent scholars who are specialists in their field are scheduled. The organisers also plan to hold sessions in separate sections devoted to specific branches of linguistics and special topics.
