The Medical University of Gdansk, the University Clinical Centre in Gdansk and the University Medical Centre in Rostock have concluded an agreement on cooperation in the field of comprehensive research, diagnosis and treatment of cancer. The agreement, which was signed during the visit to Rostock, concerns in particular joint research and projects, the sharing of knowledge and good practice, as well as staff exchange, standardisation of patient care and quality improvement.

The partners’ discussions focused on the creation of a virtual campus, sharing experience in key areas related to cancer diagnosis and treatment by establishing bilateral mobility and training programmes to initiate innovative projects and exploit synergies.

Discussions on scientific projects using new technologies were complemented by an insight into research laboratories for virtual reality and animal oncology diagnostics (e.g. PET/CT and 7T MRI diagnostics).
