Polish Mathematical Society granted the Kazimierz Kuratowski Award for young mathematicians

Marcin Sroka, PhD student of the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science of the Jagiellonian University and Dr Wojciech Górny from the University of Warsaw and the University of Vienna received the Kazimierz Kuratowski Awards, granted for scientific achievements in mathematics to people under 30 years of age.

Marcin Sroka received an award for his works on geometric analysis on the existence and regularity of solutions to the Monge-Ampére quaternion equation. Wojciech Górny was awarded for his works on partial differential equations on the problems of the least gradient.

Thw Kazimierz Kuratowski Awardwas established in 1981 by Zofia Kuratowska, the Institute of Mathematics of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Polish Mathematical Society.
