The National Science Center (NCN) has completed the following competitions: OPUS 17 for research projects, addressed to all researchers, and PRELUDIUM 17 for projects implemented by the researchers with no a PhD title. The ranking lists include over half a thousand projects worth almost PLN 390.3 million.

A total of 3,145 applications were submitted for the contests, which will receive to almost PLN 2.14 billion. NCN experts qualified exactly 520 projects worth PLN 390 268 309 for financing. On average, 16.5% of submitted applications received funding.

Representatives of exact and technical sciences will implement the majority of projects in OPUS 17 and PRELUDIUM 17 competitions. Out of 1,165 applications submitted, 193 projects with a budget over PLN 142.3 million were qualified for funding. Representatives of life sciences received slightly less funding, 170 grants (of 1026 submitted), but the value of these grants amounted to as much as PLN 186.6 million.

Representatives of the humanities, social sciences and the arts received 157 grants (of 954 submitted) with a total value of 61.3 million PLN.
