Polish scholar publishes in Reviews of Modern Physics

25.07.2019

Scientists from universities in Warsaw, Stuttgart, Amsterdam, Hamburg, Cologne and Maryland, under the direction of Dr Michał Tomza from the Faculty of Physics of the University of Warsaw, laureate of Start, Homing and First Team programs, have published a review article on cold hybrid ion-atom systems in the journal Reviews of Modern Physics.

The article presents microscopic physics that governs interactions and dynamics in mixtures of cold atoms and ions, and discusses how these systems can be prepared in experiments.

It also presents how “ultracold hybrid mixtures of atoms and ions can be used to study controlled chemical reactions to create and study cold molecular ion spectroscopy and to implement quantum physics simulations of many bodies”.
