Polish scientists analyzed Europe-China relations at the regional level

Researchers of the University of Łódź (UŁ) and the Polish Institute of International Affairs were the first in the world to conduct a detailed analysis of Europe’s contacts with China at the regional level. The book “The Role of Regions in EU-China relations” presents China’s extensive network of relations with individual regions of the EU.

According to the Promotion Center of the University of Lodz, the publication contains a detailed analysis of regional contacts between China and six EU Member States, including Poland. All these links are enriched with case studies of the mentioned regions.

The book shows the growing role of non-state actors in international relations, the increasing importance of paradiplomacy, and the need to look at EU-China relations as a multi-level phenomenon involving different types of actors at different levels.
