The Poznan University of Life Sciences (UPP) will support low-emission forms of transport in cooperation with the local Public Transport Authority. On screens installed in Collegium Maximum, the university’s main building, boards have appeared, showing tram and bus departures from nearby stops.

“Numerous studies show that good real-time passenger information is one of the factors encouraging people to choose public transport, alongside attractive ticket prices or good frequency”, says Dr Michał Beim of the Faculty of Environmental and Mechanical Engineering. UPP is the first university in Poznań to establish such cooperation with the City Transport Authority.

Road transport is responsible for about one-fifth of emissions in the European Union, so promoting sustainable forms of transport will have an impact on Poznań’s air quality.
