The Poznań University of Technology was ranked as the seventh in the Polish part of the Web of Universities Ranking, comparing almost 400 Polish universities. Globally, the university in Poznań was ranked 751 (out of over 31,000 listed high schools).

The Web of Universities ranking is based on webometric and bibliometric indicators (visibility, excellence, openness and presence), and its primary goal is to promote open access to knowledge generated by Open Acces universities.

Its creators emphasize, that the Web of Universities Ranking is the largest academic ranking of universities offering independent, objective, free, scientific materials in order to provide reliable, multidimensional, up-to-date and useful information about the results of universities from around the world.
