Dr Tomasz Bradecki, Prof. of the Silesian University of Technology, received the Prime Minister’s Award. The award was granted for highly recognised scientific achievements being the basis for awarding the degree of doctor habilitated.

In his habilitation thesis, the researcher proposed an original system for assessing the spatial value of multi-family residential complexes. The innovation of the presented concept consists in emphasising the role of modelling in urban design. Thanks to the system, it is possible to plan non-obvious biologically active areas (green roofs, wall terraces) more easily and effectively.

“Urban design using models, indicators and parameters can have an impact on improving the quality of the living environment. The use of new digital technologies can also be useful in assessing the impact of design decisions”, says the laureate.
