Prof. Andrzej Grzybowski, Head of the Department of Ophthalmology at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Warmia and Mazury (UWM) in Olsztyn, has been elected President of The European Vision & Eye Research Association EVER, the largest European ophthalmological scientific society.
The association has more than 850 members from 48 countries worldwide, represented by 11 scientific sections that cover all areas of ophthalmology and vision science. It is the leading ophthalmic research association in Europe. Its aim is to promote research and disseminate knowledge about the eye and vision through meetings, publications and information exchange.
Prof. Grzybowski is the only Polish ophthalmologist to be included in the list of 2% of the world’s most recognised scientists, which is compiled by Stanford University. In February 2021, he received an award from the Minister of Education and Science for significant scientific achievements.
