Aleksandra Szczębara, a student of architecture at the Wrocław University of Science and Technology won the international competition “Blend”. The jury appreciated her concept of an office building in the Müggelberge Hill region in Berlin.

The task of the competition was to design an office building that would not dominate the area and, in addition, it would fit into the surroundings as well as possible, allowing for the preservation of the existing greenery and its integration into the building. The office building had to provide a minimum of 2,000 sq m of roofed office space for lease, including coworking spaces.

The laureate proposed an object in a terraced layout on the hillside and with panoramic glazing opening onto green area. The remaining part of the plot was designated by the student as a flower meadow and non-regulated low green area, with specially selected plant species so as not to disturb the ecosystem around.

The competition was organized by the UNI internet platform, bringing together over 150 thousand architects and designers from all over the world.
