Wiktoria Sawicka, student of the Faculty of Architecture of the Wrocław University of Technology, won the first award in the Young Power category of the Tubądzin Design Awards. The jury has appreciated the design of the kindergarten building, which will develop the senses of toddlers.
According to the student’s concept the building in the shape of an infinity sign would provide children with openness and safety. As the author emphasizes, infinity would not be apparent, because the central part of the building would have a sliding glass door that would allow preschoolers to move freely, which would also be provided inside the building thanks to the open internal communication -.
The student proposed the use of natural materials, incl. wood, inside and on the facade of the building. She also designed a green roof with crops where children could help, and a green yard with a playground. Inside the kindergarten, large glazing would provide natural light and connect it with the surrounding.
