The West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin (ZUT) will receive over PLN 10 million from the Marshal’s Office to launch a research laboratory for 3D printing and a laboratory for obtaining raw materials from waste at the university. The measurement laboratory of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics will be enriched with the technology of intelligent materials and damping structures.

The awarded funds will be received from the Regional Operational Program of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship 2014-2020. Innovative centers and laboratories will match science and business closer, and modern technologies will strengthen the West Pomeranian economy. The infrastructure will be available for use in 2023.

“The project will allow the construction of many laboratories equipped with innovative equipment for material diagnosis in materials engineering, construction, shipbuilding and offshore. It will certainly contribute to better cooperation between entrepreneurs and researchers”, says the Rector of the West Pomeranian University of Technology, prof. Jacek Wróbel.
