Dr Maciej Beręsewicz, Professor at the Poznań University of Economics, from the Department of Statistics at the Institute of Computer Science and Quantitative Economics, has won a scholarship in the Mieczysław Bekker Programme organised by the National Agency for Academic Exchange.

The researcher will carry out a three-month project entitled ‘Statistical inference from non-random samples with classification errors’ at the University of Manchester, in collaboration with Professor Natalie Shlomo.

The project aims to develop new estimators for non-random samples containing classification errors using online job advertisements as an example. New estimators for global mean values based on the measurement error literature and estimators for non-random samples based on mass imputation, weighting by the inverse of the inclusion probability and combining these two approaches (double robust estimators) will be proposed.
