Dr Michał Bernaczyk, Professor of the University of Wrocław from the Department of Constitutional Law, will conduct research as a co-investigator as a representative of legal sciences in the international research team of the JuDDGES (Judicial Decision Data Gathering, Encoding and Sharing) project.
The researchers will be tasked with using artificial intelligence to index, compare, search vector representations of the language of judicial decisions and create semantic similarity searches. This will enable researchers, students, legal practitioners to automatically retrieve highly detailed information about the application of the law based on hundreds of thousands of court decisions.
The project is funded by the CHIST-ERA European Coordinated Research on Long-term Challenges in Information and Communication Sciences & Technologies network. Dr Michał Bernaczyk is a constitutionalist and an expert on the right to information and open data.
