Researcher of the University of Opole receives American internship

Dr Danuta Witkowska, deputy director of the Institute of Health Sciences of the University of Opole, began a three-month research internship with Prof. Dean Wilcox at the American Darmouth College. The trip was possible thanks to a grant under the program Bekker run by the National Agency for Academic Exchange.

Darmouth College is one of the ten oldest universities in the US and belongs to a prestigious group of universities known as the Ivy League. Danuta Witkowska together with the group of Prof. Wilcox will work on the thermodynamics of the interaction of metal ions with proteins.

Dr Witkowska is a member of a group of scientists specializing in biomedical analyzes, including interdisciplinary research related to the determination of the mechanism of interaction of metal ions and their complexes with biologically important compounds.
