Researchers from the Wrocław University of Science and Technology (PWr) are working on a Polish version of ChatGPT. It will be supplemented with material in Polish and data related to the Polish socio-cultural context. The first, test version is to be published in the first half of next year.
One of the directions in which artificial intelligence is developing is large language models. Recently, ChatGPT, a generative language transformer created by OpenAI, which is theoretically able to answer any question, while maintaining high linguistic correctness, has broken records in popularity.
Currently, the research and development infrastructure that will be used to create the large-scale Polish language model is being completed at the Wrocław Network and Supercomputing Centre. A key element will be one of Poland’s first supercomputers specialising in natural language processing and artificial intelligence.
