Polish national football team captain Robert Lewandowski took part in research developed at the European Centre of Innovative Technologies for Health – EHTIC. The Silesian University of Technology unit conducts top-class research related to the biomechanics of the human musculoskeletal system and the assessment of sensory integration.

“The research is carried out with the participation of osteopaths and physiotherapists, among others, and focuses on the analysis of movement, muscle activity, studies of balance or speed of reaction to external stimuli. One of the first footballers to undergo this research is the captain of the Polish national team, Robert Lewandowski”, said the head of the research team, Prof. Marek Gzik.

The athlete testing programme is one of many projects being carried out at the EHTIC – the most modern health technology research and development centre in this part of Europe. The aim is to support training, improve performance during a match and prevent injuries.
