The Mars rover designed and built by students of the scientific circle of computer design of mechatronic devices and machines of the Częstochowa University of Technology won the University Rover Challenge 2018 competition.
Over 500 students from 35 teams from around the world participated in the competition at Mars Desert Research Station in the US state Utah. The construction of Częstochowa students triumphed significantly and overtook the defenders of the title – Missouri University of Science & Technology team – by over 30 points. The third place was taken by the team of the Kielce University of Technology.
The leader of the winning team of constructors is Piotr Ptak – a student of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science, and the whole project is headed by Prof. Eng Dawid Cekus from Czestochowa University of Technology.
