The Ignacy Łukasiewicz Institute of Energy Policy in Rzeszów, in cooperation with the Rzeszów University of Technology is launching the National Competition for Local Government Units for the most innovative self-government in terms of energy.
The aim of the competition is to select and reward municipalities most involved in the modernization of the energy sector, complying with the implementation of the assumptions of the national and EU energy and climate policy, including the implementation of sustainable energy transformation at the local level.
– We want to appreciate the initiatives of local government units and to reward and promote them in Poland, so that they may become examples for others – said Dr Mariusz Ruszel from the Rzeszów University of Technology and president of the Institute of Energy Policy. – Our competition will be an impulse for local governments to become interested in energy innovations. We also want, as a think tank grouping scientists and experts, to contribute to the necessary and inevitable process of accelerating the sustainable transformation of the elements of the energy structure to the lowest but also an important level of administration.
