Dr Grzegorz Bury and Dr Magda Mielczarek from the University of Life Sciences in Wrocław became scholarship holders of the Minister of Science and Higher Education and became 200 best young Polish scientists.
Dr Grzegorz Bury from the Institute of Geodesy and Geoinformatics is the only scholarship holder representing doctoral students in the civil engineering and transport. His research focuses on improving methods for determining the precise orbits of satellites in navigation systems such as American GPS, European Galileo, Russian GLONASS and Chinese BeiDou.
Dr Magda Mielczarek from the Department of Genetics at the Faculty of Biology and Animal Breeding deals with bioinformatic analysis of data from next generation sequencing (NGS, Next Generation Sequencing). The main purpose of the research is the detection and functional analysis of genetic mutations / polymorphisms, i.e. differences in DNA between individuals of a given population, in entire genomes of animals.
