Scientist of the Pedagogical University of Krakow becomes a laureate of the award for sworn translators

Dr Artur Dariusz Kubacki of the Pedagogical University (UP) in Krakow was awarded the Translator’s Laurel of the Polish Society of Sworn and Specialized Translators TEPIS in Warsaw.

He received the award for “outstanding knowledge, many years of experience and outstanding professional achievements”.

Dr Artur D. Kubacki has been the head of the Department of German Linguistics of the Institute of Modern Languages ​​at the University of Life Sciences in Krakow since 2014, and since 1998 an active sworn translator of the German language.

He was awarded the postdoctoral degree in the humanities in the discipline of linguistics in 2013 for his general academic achievements and the habilitation thesis entitled “Certified translation. Status, education, workshop and responsibility of a sworn translator”.

He is the author or co-author of 15 books in the field of translation studies and glottodidactics, as well as over 120 articles and reviews on specialized translation and its teaching, with particular emphasis on the translation of terminology in law and economics.
