Scientists from Gdańsk and Kraków to design and develop a device for cleaning the air from coronaviruses

06.07.2021

Scientists from the University of Gdańsk, the Jagiellonian University and the scientific and industrial consortium, which includes the company Producent Joinery PCV and AL “BEWI” Bernard Wójcik, received funding for the project “Development of an innovative technology for removing coronaviruses from the air, including SARS-CoV-2 with the application of photocatalytic layers implemented in an air purification device”.

The developed technology will be used to design and develop prototype air purification devices, which will be adapted for installation in a window frame or in a wall in closed rooms, especially with high density and flow of people.

Obtaining the expected results requires conducting industrial research and experimental development works involving specialists in the field of chemistry, virology and combined window joinery production.
