The Gdansk University of Technology is the only university from Poland to be a partner in the APRIORA (Improved risk assessment for strategic water management to reduce micro-pollutant emissions in the Baltic Sea Region) project. The aim is to reduce micropollutant emissions into the aquatic environment.
Funded by the INTERREG Baltic Sea Region programme, the project will develop new guidelines for risk analysis based on the volume of consumption and monitoring of pharmaceuticals, as well as a user-friendly geo-information system for easy and quick assessment of the current state of water resources.
Project partners include: from Germany – Rostock University and the German Environment Agency; from Finland – Finnish Environment Institute and Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment in South Ostrobothnia; from Lithuania – Latvian Institute of Aquatic Ecology and Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre; from Sweden – Kristianstad University and Gdansk University of Technology.
