29.08.2020

Dr Sabina Kubiciel-Lodzińska, Dr Jolanta Maj and Dr Eng. Piotr Bębenek from the Faculty of Economics and Management of the Opole University of Technology are the authors of the book “Entrepreneurship of immigrants in Poland. Approaches and challenges in conducting research”. This is one of the few monographs on this subject in Poland.

The entrepreneurship of immigrants is a phenomenon that has a significant impact on the development of the economies of many countries. In Poland, it is almost unexplored so far, although according to Eurostat data, every fifth immigrant from outside the European Union working in Poland runs his own company.

Opole scientists discuss basic concepts and statistics related to immigrant entrepreneurship, as well as the research conducted so far in the world on this subject. Research on immigrant entrepreneurship is being developed at three Polish universities – the Opole University of Technology, the University of Warsaw and the University of Economics in Krakow.
