08.04.2020

Scientists of the Department of History and Theory of Education from the Faculty of Education Sciences of the University of Bialystok (UwB) are participating in the project “Bibliographic Dictionaries of Polish Scholars”, implemented by the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences in Krakow (PAU).

The project will provide 8 volumes of dictionaries, dedicated to representatives of various fields of science. It is funded by the National Humanities Development Program.

The five-year project is headed by Prof. Andrzej Kajetan Wróblewski, full member of the Polish Academy of Sciences. By reason of its scale and content, the project has no precedent in Poland. Over 11,000 biographies will be created, gathered in eight biographical dictionaries: Polish archaeologists, astronomers, botanists, chemists, physicists, geologists, mathematicians and educators.
