On January 30, 2019, the Senate of the University of Bialystok awarded the “Medal of the University of Bialystok” and titles “Merited for the University”.

“Medal of the University of Bialystok” was received by Prof. Bazyli Poskrobko. By the Vice-Rector for Education, Dr Wojciech Śleszyński, Prof. Poskrobko is an outstanding Polish economist, a leading specialist in the field of environmental economics. He has put a lot of effort for the development of the Faculty of Economics and Management, where he has been working from the mid-eighties.

The title of “Merited for the University” was awarded to Andrzej Branicki (Faculty of Physics), Prof. Beata Izabella Godlewska-Żyłkiewicz (Faculty of Biology and Chemistry), Prof. Dariusz Ryszard Kijowski (Faculty of Law), Dr Józef Maroszek (former scholar of the Faculty of History and Sociology), Prof. Bogusław Nowowiejski (Faculty of Philology), Regina Maria Sokołowska (central administration).
