The Silesian University of Technology is at the forefront of the most innovative entities in Poland. According to the report of the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland for 2021, the university was granted 116 patents for inventions, as well as 4 protection rights for utility models and 7 rights from registration for industrial designs.

The Silesian University of Technology has moved up in the ranking compared to the previous year and is now ranked fourth among all applicants (domestic and foreign).

“The patenting procedure at the Silesian University of Technology is consistently carried out by the patent attorneys of the Centre for Incubation and Technology Transfer (CITT) and the patent attorney acting at the JM Rector. Our goal is to protect the results of the work of scientific employees of the Silesian University of Technology and, consequently, a systematic increase in the number of protected solutions, which can be seen in published rankings and reports”, says CITT director Magdalena Letun-Łątka.
