Silesian University of Technology works for the protection of monuments from the UNESCO World Heritage list

Silesian University of Technology started cooperation with the Association of Tarnogórska Land Lovers. The aim is primarily to protect and develop the monuments of Tarnogóra, which are on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The agreement signed at the Historic Silver Mine in Tarnowskie Góry is the first such agreement in Poland between the university and a non-governmental organization operating globally.

The agreement provides for the exchange of experiences and obtaining grants and subsidies for investments. One of them will be the modernization of the Steam Engine Open Air Museum at the silver mine. Additional funds will also be used for conservation of buildings listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The signatories will prepare research and didactic projects, organize seminars and conferences, as well as cooperate in the implementation and dissemination of the results of scientific and research works as well as the organization of internships and apprenticeships.
